Aiden's Room

This is what you see when you walk to the door.

This dresser Grammie and Grumpy gave to Aiden. It was cherry and I sanded it down and laqoured it. Wala!

This couch was originally in out basement. When it didn't fit in the basement bedroom it became the baby's.

I painted these letters and chase donated the horns from his shed hunting collection. :)

This tree Nana painted and is my favorite part of the room.

I love Bear's crib and bedding.

When chase and I got engaged, chase had carved my name and his in the tree. Nana put our initials on the tree in memory of that.

So here you go! Aiden's room turned out better than I dreamed.Thanks to the help of Nana! She has such a great creative mind.

Here is our precious son. Aiden Bear Shepherd. Born: July 26,2011 at 9:35 am. 6 lbs 10 oz. 19 inches long. He is the most adorable little guy. And your bound to fall instantly in love with him the moment you set eyes on him.

Dad and Mom came to the hospital. Mom was such a great help and we both felt like it was Christmas day.
They both have been such a heaven sent and have been to the house helping when ever I holler. :) Aiden loves his grandparents already.

It all started on Monday, July 25 at 2:00 pm. I started having contractions about every 20 min. At about 8:00 pm, they were every 10 min. I called my parents over and Chase gave me a blessing. I was concerned about whether what I was going through was Braxton Hicks or Labor Contractions. Dad said that at this point in my pregnancy I was experiencing Labor pains. So I asked him, at what point do I go to the hospital? (I did not want to be sent home, if I was to that point.) Dad told me that if my water breaks or the pain is so great I can't stand it any longer, that is when I should go in. At about 10:30 pm I was having contractions at 5 min. apart. I though I could wait them out a little longer so I told Chase to go to bed. Half an hour later I was to the point of bursting in tears, I decided to wake Chase and go to the hospital. (Chase had only been asleep for 15 min.)
We arrived at the hospital at about 12:30 am. I was dilated to a 4. The doctor broke my water a hour half later. When the nurse checked me 30 min. later, i was a 6. The nurse called for the anesthesiologist to come and give me the epidural. She gave me a drug to survive off of until he came. I never felt better! Whatever the drug is that she gave me, It took away all the pain. haha And hour after that the anesthesiologist showed up and gave me the epidural. No pain there, either. When the nurse checked me 30 min. after that i was dilated to a 9 1/2. Good news there! About an hour later I was ready to push. I pushed for 2 1/2 hours before the doctor came in and decided to use forceps. 30 seconds later and Aiden was taking his first breaths into this world.
Mom, Broc, Brad and Lenny came to support me and later Danielle. It was such a great experience to hear little Aiden screaming and crying when he came into this world.

I've been doing many projects to get ready for the baby. One of them is re-painting a bedroom set that Chase's sister gave us. It was quite a project, but i'm glad I did it. Sure changed the look of my room. Here are all the Before pictures.

Hockey

Chase and I discovered a whole new sport that we really enjoy to watch. HOCKEY! Because of some very generous neighbors we were able to go and watch the Grizzles a few times. We had so much fun. If you ever get a chance to go to a Hockey game-GO! I promise you will have fun. :) We enjoy watching people fight, and this is a game that gives you plenty of that.

Pheasant Hunting

One of Chase's favorite past times is Pheasant Hunting. Every year he tries to get me to eat the meat and every year I have to leave the house until the smell of his kill is out. I can't stand the smell or look of it. But he enjoys it so ONCE a year I leave the house so he can enjoy his bird. :)

Hunting Adventures

Over the past several years Chase and I have enjoyed many hunting trips. We are both Dedicated hunters which means we do several hours of service for the DWR and in turn they ensure us 2 deer tags within a 3 year period. Needless to say we spend the 2nd weekend of August (Archry hunt) to about the end of October (Muzzleloader and rifle) hunting deer. From Scofield to Fishlake. Once a deer is harvested we cut up the meat and make jerky out of it. Chase is the master at this and so I'm in charge of cleaning the meat and he does the rest. It has taken him many years and many failed attemts to get the recipe down for the jerky, but I think he's finally got it down. We love jerky!

Ah! Blog nighmare of the year. I can't believe i've not been on here for ages. Since it's been a while I'm going to have to work the next week on getting this caught up. Please bare with me as I go through a year of pictures and stories. With the Baby (yes for those who haven't heard, a baby is on it's way) coming very soon i've got to get caught up with everything. So ready, set, go, here comes a years worth of our life.

Stadium of Fire!

Hey everybody! So this past month has already been crazy. We started out with the stadium of fire on the 4th. We have gone to this the last couple of years because chase's little sister performs in it. Well this year was awesome because DeDe was right in front of us the whole time. She did such a great job. Well the next day Deseret News had a picture of her in the Newspaper. We were all excited for her. :) She really is a great performer.

I know these are a little late but last august I shot a 2 point with my bow. From 66 yards away. Chase keeps telling me that, that was an awesome shot. I'm just surprised i hit it. haha

Fish Tales

Lately chase has been trying to show me what kind of fisherman he is. A couple of weekends ago I out fished him and he couldn't take it. He says it doesn't matter how big the fish is but how many you can catch. So since then he has tried to go fishing every moment he can, and so far he has caught over 100 fish. But he has now resorted to taking pictures of his catch's so I'll believe his TALL TALES! So here is one of those pictures......but what he doesn't know is that I'M the best catch he's ever going to get.

Hello Ya'll!
Chase and I have been married for over a year now and so much has happened. We've built a house, I've changed jobs and we got our first dog! I'll round up some pictures so ya'll can see every thing. Both of our families have had happy times and sad. All our Happy news is....Cody recieved his mission call! Cleveland, Ohio. He leaves on New years eve. More good news, Everybody is healthy and has jobs. With the economy so bad that is such a blessing. And Chase and I have a niece. This is where the sad news comes....Our little Angel Shaylee past away. She lived 21 Hours. She changed our family and touched our hearts. Grandpa Shepherd also passed away a day after Christmas last year and that was hard for Chase because they were really close. We Love all of you and it is a blessing to have you in our lives.
